I posted earlier about the dollar index forming a base and I was targeting some upside since then we have seen dollar buying, we are now at a trend line that has capped rallies so far, should we push higher expect the 80.41 to come into play.

Despite yesterdays miss on US data we have seen buyers come in with what looks like a potential base forming on the dollar index. We have seen some sharp moves in GBPUSD today taking us as far as the 1.6722 before strong selling pressure took us straight back down to the 1.6640, the market now waits for the rumored GBPUSD fix for the Vodafone deal. Last friday caught traders long GBPUSD. I am still short stops above the 1.6735.

US February consumer confidence and the Richmond manufacturing index both miss on expectations. This is now weighing on the USDJPY now approaching some support levels.
